29 June 2012
It's the Canada Day long weekend! Yay!!! Happy 145 years to this glorious country of ours!
So what's on the docket for this weekend? Well, Barb and I are working on Saturday, but we did manage to blackmail our boss into letting us have Sunday off together, so it looks like it will be a day at Couchiching Park to enjoy the festivities. The Snowbirds are in town again this year. Maybe I'll be able to get a few more pictures for the website. And for the evening we already have a place all scouted out at Tudhope Park to enjoy the fireworks. Should be a good day.
With our holidays still amost 2 months out, we're both getting a little antsy to see the end of August come along. This year we don't have any concrete plans (yet!), but we will be attending Fan Expo once more. Just can't stay away from that place. Not sure about the guest list -- doesn't look like there will be anyone I'll be rushing down to see this year. But I am curious to see what costume the lovely brunette will be wearing this year. You know, the Princess Leia slave girl - girl. And I'm certain there will be plenty of other amazing outfits as well.
Until then, we're about 48 hours away from a spectacular pyrotechnic light show. To all of my fellow Canadians out there, have a safe and happy Canada Day weekend, whether you are at the cottage, or staying home to see your local fireworks display.
And for our American neighbours, the Fourth is coming up real quick as well! Light the skies with fire!
Wouldn't it be great if we could get a few shots of that from space?
